Day Surgery Patients
- All patients are asked at their pre-admission phone call appropriate screening questions. If you are deemed to be at risk due to symptoms or other information you provide, you will be prevented from entry to the Hospital.
- Patients will be provided a surgical mask on Admission by the nursing team.
- Remember hand hygiene is important. Please use the available hand sanitiser stations at the entrance and throughout the Hospital
On the day of surgery please report to Reception where you will be greeted by our friendly staff and directed to our Admissions team. The admission process will be continued in the Day Surgery Suite where you will be interviewed by the Anaesthetist.
Visitors cannot be accommodated in the Day Surgery Suite. There is an exception for one parent / carer who is accompanying children or a disabled patient.
You will need a responsible adult to pick you up from hospital. You will not be allowed to drive home.
It is advisable to not drive your car for 24 hours and that someone can stay with you during this time. Medications may affect your judgement and coordination and may compromise your motor vehicle insurance cover.
Please do not bring unnecessary valuables - there is a locker in which to keep your clothing and personal belongings.
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and low heeled shoes for comfort.
