Day Surgery Patients
On the day of surgery please proceed to the Reception desk, halfway down the main corridor where you will be greeted by our friendly staff. The admission process will be continued in the Day Surgery Suite where you will be interviewed by the Anaesthetist.
Visitors cannot be accommodated in the Day Surgery Suite. There is an exception for one parent / carer who is accompanying children or a disabled patient. There is a waiting room for visitors with tea and coffee available.
You will need a responsible adult to pick you up from hospital. You will not be allowed to drive home.
It is advisable to not drive your car for 24 hours and that someone can stay with you during this time. Medications may affect your judgement and coordination and may compromise your motor vehicle insurance cover.
Please do not bring unnecessary valuables - there is a locker in which to keep your clothing and personal belongings.
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and low heeled shoes for comfort.
